ENTRY FEES: $100.00 per angler on or before July 9, 2010. Junior anglers under 16 is $45.OO per angler on or before July 9th. Entry fee includes all social events and awards banquette on Saturday, July 10th 2010 for each registered angler. PLEASE make checks payable to Big Time Tournaments. SOCIAL FEES: Additional social passes may be purchased at a price of $10.00 for awards dinner and banquette. PRE-REGISTRATION: Big Time Bait and Tackle c/o Marathon Dolphin Scramble 11499 Overseas Hwy. Marathon, FL 33050 FINAL REGISTRATION: will be held at the Captain's Meeting at 6:30pm Friday, July 9th 2010 at Sunset Grille in Marathon, Florida Keys. TOURNAMENT TYPE: The Marathon Dolphin Scramble is an angler's tournament. To be eligible for prizes, each fish must be entered for official weigh-in at Big Time Bait and Tackle the weigh station in the presence of the angler who caught the fish. ELIGIBLE ANGLERS: NO CHANGES OR SUBSTITUTIONS ARE PERMITTED. RULES: Unless otherwise stated, IGFA rules will apply throughout the tournament with line class up to and including 80 lb. test line. FISHING LICENSE: All participating anglers must possess a valid Florida Saltwater Fishing License, where required. You must follow all State and Federal laws. CAPTAIN'S MEETING There will be a Mandatory Captain's meeting on Friday, July 9, 2010, at Sunset Grille at 6:30pm. All participating anglers and captains should be present. The rules of this tournament may be amended verbally or in writing during the meeting. Anglers and captains are responsible for rule changes. ELIGIBLE FISH: Dolphin is the only species of fish eligible for cash prizes. All fish presented for weigh-in must be in fresh, edible condition and caught that tournament day. No mutilated fish will be accepted. Minimum acceptable length for weigh in is 20” from the fork of the tail to the front jaws of the dolphin. Any unwanted fish should be donated to our local charity. POLYGRAPH: All winning anglers may be subject to and must pass a polygraph test. Any person aboard the winning angler's boat may also be subject to and must pass a polygraph test. Refusal to take the test will result in disqualification. TOURNAMENT START: "Line-up" is in front of Sunset Grille and is from 7:45am to 8:20am. You must check in your Team Number with Committee Boat during that time. A shot gun “Bimini Start” start will be at 8:30am Sharp. You cannot line up on the South side of the “OFFICAL BOAT”. The “OFFICAL BOAT” is not the committee boat. The “OFFICAL BOAT” is the marked police boat.
TOURNAMENT HOURS: Shot Gun Start will be at 8:30am and that is also official lines in. Lines out will be at 3:30pm. FIRST LEGAL DOLPHIN: The first legal dolphin back to committee boat wins the $1000 prize money. The committee boat will then announce it on the radio and then will leave the area. The committee boat will be monitoring CH. 5 on the VHF. You can call Big Time Bait and Tackle to confirm if the first dolphin has been brought in too. (305.289.0199 Shop number) LARGEST DOLPHIN: The largest dolphin of the tournament will be awarded $1000 and second and third place will be awarded too. Junior anglers will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in their division. Top Female angler will be awarded as well. OFFICAL WEIGH STATION: Your fish can only be weighed in at Big Time Bait and Tackle. The hours will be from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. No fish can be weighed in after 6:00pm unless you are already in line and checked in with Weigh Master. WEATHER CONDITIONS: Boat Captains are ultimately responsible for their equipment and crew, and should make the decision as to safe sea conditions. PROTESTS: Any protests concerning the conduct of an angler or rules violations must be filed in writing with the tournament committee the day of the alleged violation, no later than the end of the weigh-in time for that day. A $300 cash deposit must accompany each protest. All decisions of the Rules Committee are final. TIES: In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the time the fish was weighed in. REFUNDS: No refunds will be given.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: It is expressly understood that all participants of any Big Time Tournaments enter at their own risk and that Big Time Bait & Tackle, Boatman’s Resort and Marina, their officers and directors, and all persons connected directly or indirectly with the operations of the tournament, or any sponsor of the tournament shall be exempt from any liability for slander, loss, damage, negligence, harm, injury, or death suffered by any participant, entrant, sport fisherman or their companions, boat captains, mates, crew members, guests, vessels and equipment which may occur during the tournament. SIGNING OF THE WAIVER FORM Each angler must sign a waiver form. By signing the waiver form, the angler acknowledges that he/she has read and agrees to abide by all the tournament rules including the above liability release and that the tournament and/or its sponsors may use without payment or restriction any photographs in which he or she appears for any purpose whatsoever but not limited to resale, advertising, commercial or promotional material. All anglers are required to sign this waiver form. Minors (under the age of 18) must have a parent or guardian sign waiver form on their behalf.
